The apartment is a 10 minute walk to the beautiful blue flag beaches of Galé, Castello and Lourenco. Cliff top walks, miles of soft golden sand, water sports, secluded coves, rock pools and several excellent bars and restaurants all add up to daylong enjoyment. The bars and restaurants serve lunch time snacks and superb evening dining including the fresh catch of the day.
A short walk from Glenridge is the renowned Apolónia supermarket offering a wide selection of international and local cuisine and wine. An excellent selection of bars & restaurants, including the only two Michelin star restaurant in Portugal, are all within a short walk from the resort. Galé is a low rise residential area with mostly villas and town houses but just 10 minutes west of Albuferia and a 35 minute drive from Faro Airport.
The bustling town of Albuferia has something for everyone with its new marina complex, a huge selection of restaurants, cafes and bars lining the narrow cobbled streets of the ‘old town’ and the famous ‘Strip’ offering family pubs with live entertainment, late night music bars and great clubs.
Between Albuferia and Faro are the resorts of Vale do Lobo, Almancil and Vilamoura to name but a few. Whilst to the west of Galé are the resorts of Armação de Pêra, Praia da Rocha, Alvor, the ancient city of Lagos and Cape St Vincent, Europe’s most south-westerly point. Inland are the historic towns of Silves and Monchique and a mountain range ideal for hiking and exploring away from the beaten track.
The challenging Salgados golf course is just a 5 minute drive from Glenridge whilst there are 20 other golf courses within a 30 minute drive of the apartment including six of the best courses in the world at Villamora golf resort. Other attractions nearby include Aqua Park, Zoomarine, Slide & Splash, Cliff Richard’s Adega do Cantor vineyard, and Algarve Shopping – a giant shopping mall and entertainment centre which features designer shops, restaurants, a multi-screen cinema and a 12-lane bowling alley. Just a 40 minute drive away is the new multi million pound international racing circuit at Portimao.
